Learn by Doing. Build Capability That Lasts.

Development Simulations bring real workplace decisions, pressure and consequences into your training program, so people practise the job before they do the job.

What are Development Simulations?

Development Simulations are immersive, scenario-based experiences that Envision Lab embeds inside an existing training program. They do not replace your courses; they bring them to life. Participants step into a realistic business situation, make decisions, see the consequences unfold, and reflect on what they would do differently.

The concepts taught in the classroom are applied straight away, in a safe environment where mistakes become lessons instead of costs. This is experiential learning at its most practical: people build capability by experiencing it, not just hearing about it.

Whether your program covers leadership, customer service, project management, negotiation or any other capability, we design the simulation around your learning objectives, your organisational context and your participants’ roles.

Our Objectives

Every Development Simulation is built to achieve four key outcomes:

Turn knowledge into behaviour

Move participants from understanding a concept to applying it under realistic conditions.

Accelerate skill development

Give people the repetition, feedback and exposure to complex situations that would normally take years on the job.

Deepen engagement and retention

Active, decision-driven learning is remembered far longer than passive content.

Reveal development needs

Show each participant, and the organisation, where strengths sit and where further support is needed.

Key Benefits

  • Learning that sticks: Participants learn by making decisions and living with the results, which builds confidence and long-term recall.
  • A safe place to fail: People can test bold choices, make mistakes and recover without risk to customers, teams or budgets.
  • Immediate, relevant feedback: Participants see the consequences of their decisions in the moment, then reflect on them in a structured debrief.
  • Higher engagement: Competition, challenge and realism keep participants involved from the first minute to the last.
  • Direct link to the workplace: Scenarios mirror the situations your people actually face, so transfer back to the job is faster.
  • Measurable development insight: Each participant’s decisions are captured and analysed, giving trainers and managers evidence of progress, not just attendance.
  • Consistent and scalable: Every participant gets the same quality of experience, whether you train one cohort or many.

How it works

01

Align

We start with your training program, its learning objectives and the competencies it aims to build.

02

Selection

You select the simulation that best fits the challenges and decision points that reflect your industry and your people’s day-to-day reality.

03

Embed

The simulation is placed at the right moment in your program: to open a topic, to practise a module, or to bring the whole course together as a capstone.

04

Experience

Participants work through the scenario individually or in teams, making decisions as the situation evolves, guided by a facilitator.

05

Debrief and report

A structured debrief connects the experience to the learning content, and a Competency Development Report shows each participant’s strengths and growth areas.

How It Adds Value

For L&D Teams: Lift the return on training you have already invested in. The course content stays the same; what changes is how deeply it is understood and applied.

For Managers: Development stops being a leap of faith. Reports show how each person handled realistic pressure, so coaching conversations start from evidence.

For the Organisation: Capability is built faster and more consistently, with less risk. People arrive back at work having already practised the decisions they will face.

Why Envision Lab

Built around your program

We embed simulations into the training you already run instead of asking you to start again.

Every decision point is linked to the competencies your program is designed to develop.

Flexible delivery

In person, virtual or blended, in English or Arabic.

Evidence you can use

Participant and cohort reports turn the experience into development insight.

Frequently asked questions

No. Development Simulations are designed to slot into the program you already have, at the point where they add the most value.
Yes. Scenarios, roles and challenges can be tailored to your industry, your learning objectives and your participants.
Length depends on the program. A simulation can be anything between 2 hours to 4 hours including the briefing, the activity, and the debrief.
Each participant receives a Competency Development Report, and cohort-level results show where the group is strong and where further development is needed.
